an alpha // whiskey // foxtrot anniversary …

ashley

It’s funny, but it occurred to me for the very first time today that in just a few weeks, alpha // whiskey // foxtrot will celebrate its one-year anniversary — and nobody’s more shocked about this than me.

I can still remember the first time I hit that little blue “Publish” button.  Back then, I was nervous, and a touch resistant to the sometimes self-promotional tone of blogging in general …  But I also knew that I was dissatisfied with certain areas of my life:

My town.

My mistrust of others.

My own body.

And I suspected that if I could find the beauty in those places and pin it down into words, then maybe — just maybe — I might actually be able to believe in it.

So that’s what I did.  I went searching for the beauty.  Translated it into photographs, and into the tiny black-and-white bars we call text.

I did this over and over again — 175 posts and counting — and then I shared it with whoever was willing to read.

That’s courage.

In celebration of that courage, I’m introducing a new series:  Flashback.  And when I say “new” what I really mean is “old.”

Over the next three months, I’ll be re-posting some familiar favorites — mine and yours — on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (with new content in between).  You might think of it as a curated collection of the best of alpha // whiskey // foxtrot.

Here’s hoping that my oldest followers enjoy a little nostalgia with me, and my newer followers discover some special words for the first time.

Either way — I’m glad you’re here for the journey. ❤

    1. Well, thank you, friend. There are much more accomplished bloggers out there, but sharing this way is a challenge for me — a good one — and so I’m proud of myself.

Success and blessings to you too!! 🙂

      1. Your words are appreciated. I believe in celebrating our small as well as our big victories. If we do not learn to celebrate our small victories, we may not be able to celebrate the big ones when they come. Blessings to you.
